Farah Khan after two super hits of Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007) films with ShahRukh Khan, she is back with Happy New Year in 2014 and first time to direct Abhishek Bachchan. From the beginning Farah Khan scripted the story on ShahRukhKhan for lead role whlie John Abraham was the first choice to be in Pivotal role but later on Sonu Sood casted and Jackie Shroff signed the project in Aug 2013 to play an antagonist role. Farah Khan also casted Boman Irani in a interview. intaily the first reports said that actress in lead role next to khan may be, Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but later on Deepika Padukone signed for the project. Kareena Kapoor, Prabhu Deva, Malaika Arora Khan and Sajid Khan will also be seen in the film as cameo appearance.
